There are a handful of books/ebooks/blogs about online bookselling that I recommend to other people. My #1 recommended resource (and the first product that I ever promoted on my blog) is now being offered at an amazing price – FREE!!!
2 years ago or so, I read Nathan Holmquist’s “Selling on Amazon’s FBA Program” and it totally changed my business! I went from being a rare/antique book seller to being a high volume book seller. You would think this would be a lot more work but it really isn’t. In fact, it’s easier because books suitable for FBA are easier and cheaper to find than rare books. What about storage space? I was living in a townhouse at the time I started, but I didn’t need more space for higher inventory – in fact, I needed far less!
Nathan’s ebook shows in a simple way the tremendous advantages of selling using Amazon’s FBA program versus traditional methods. Some of the highlights include:
- The ability to PROFIT by selling penny books! (This is no longer advised – but books priced 2 cents and higher can be extremely profitable)
- How to get listed higher on Amazon against similar or even lower priced listings of the same book
- How to target Amazon Prime customers – these customers are willing to pay you higher prices for a book that will be selling for a lower cost by your competitors!
- Advanced tools and techniques to streamline your FBA business once you get rolling
I thought this ebook was priced too low at $17 but now it is free for a limited time! Just click HERE to get your free copy or on the first banner on the right side of my blog! Let me know what you think of the book or if you have any questions and I will be happy to help you.
I’ve had a great response to my offer to help people get started in online book selling! I’m going to send out the first info next week, covering where to find great deals on used books. If you would like to get the info as well, just sign up for my newsletter to the right…. This info is geared towards beginners but will probably give book selling veterans some fresh ideas also.
Since making the switch from Blackberry to Android a few months back, I have found & use some awesome apps to help with my book biz. Here are some of my favorites – I will post more in the future and would like to hear about apps that you may use as well! (post on comments):

Google Navigation: Not only useful as a GPS system, but the voice search comes in handy when driving. I say things like “Thrift Shops” or “Flea Markets” when I am in areas that I’m not familiar with and it takes me right to them! (not to mention Starbucks as well)
Business Calendar Beta by Netgenius: After years of searching, I finally found a fully functional and useful calendar for a cell phone! What’s really awesome about it is that you can sync it with Google Calendar(s). One nice thing about that is that you can enter all of your plans in Google Calendar on your PC then sync it to your phone in few seconds. Another thing I like about it is that you can click “all day” for each event so that you don’t have to have everything organized by time.
eBay: A pretty good app for using eBay.. you can see what your selling, bidding on, and watching. Pretty functional although you cannot revise your listings or add new listings.
Amazon: A basic Amazon app that comes in handy to search for books or media when you don’t have a scanner on you, or want more detailed info about something your scanning. Doesn’t have seller account info unfortunately.
Mileage Tracker – Frank Android Software: The best $2.99 i ever spent! If you keep track of mileage for your business this is a great app! Can enter multiple vehicles, mileage, itenarary, and email the results to yourself in a spreadsheet!
For fun – on long roadtrips the Pandora and Espn radio apps are priceless!
